    1. What is The Landlord Protection Agency?
    The Landlord Protection Agency (The LPA) is a place where landlords can go to get the help, knowledge, support and materials they need to run a more efficient property management operation. Whether you have only one small apartment or hundreds of residential properties, The LPA is designed to meet the needs of all residential landlords. Membership in the LPA helps landlords deal efficiently with tenant problems and easily avoid costly problems. The Landlord Protection Agency website has been helping landlords accross the U.S., Canada and beyond since 2000.

    3. How do I change my e-mail address or edit my account information?
    Would you like to change your e-mail address or edit your account information?
    You can easily edit your account by
    1. Log in with username & password
    2. On Top Right of the Main Menu, Click on your name
    3. Edit your account information

    4. Do I have to be a member to use The LPA?
    No. The LPA offers many free services including free access to our State Landlord Tenant Laws, State Lease Clause Index, State Specific Notice Period Chart, Downloadable Free Landlord Forms and many important instructional Landlord Articles. Don’t forget, you are also invited to participate in our Landlord Q&A forum. Just reading the free information on The LPA site is like taking a valuable Landlording seminar. Of course a membership will give you full access to all our Essential Forms and other members only features.

    5. Where do I log In?

    How do I get my username & password?

    You will find the Log In button on the Main Menu in the top right area. If you see your name there, you are already logged in.
    Registering for Username & Password
    Before being able to log on to The LPA site, you will first need to register. The registration page will allow you to choose your username and personal password that you will need to log on. Keep your username and password safe and remember that the system is case sensitive. Click here to register now. If you have trouble setting up a username or password, don't quit! It's possible the username exists already, so I suggest making a new one slightly different. If you still have a problem, please call or e-mail.

    7. Can I renew my LPA membership at the renewal prices even after it has expired?
    Yes. The LPA has some great renewal prices! Keep in mind that any memberships ordered for 2 or more years come with the LPA Forms Disk which is mailed to you as soon as you place your order.

    7a) How do I find the date my membership expires?
    You can find your membership date on a copy of your order receipt page. If you need to look it up online, please go to the "Your Orders" link to see the dates of your orders.

    No. The LPA site allows you to place your own orders. If you choose to re-new your LPA membership, you can do so at our Membership Renewals page. Our reduced renewal prices also apply to expired LPA memberships.

    9. Will the LPA accept my check or money order for membership or forms?
    Yes. If your forms order had the payment method of "Postal Billing" selected, your forms will be sent to you as an e-mail attachment as soon as we receive your payment. If you ordered LPA Membership, your account is activated as soon as your payment is received.

    10. Can I get a refund for LPA membership?

    • I downloaded all your copyrighted forms, but am hiring a property manager,

    • might sell my property,

    • business plans may change,

    • I just want to try out all your material and then decide.

    Before placing an order, each customer or new member of the LPA must first approve our LPA Terms of Service Agreement with their electronic signature on our checkout page.

    It explains that LPA membership materials and products are Copyrighted Intellectual Property. Since immediate download access is delivered via the internet at the time the order is completed, all fees paid to The Landlord Protection Agency (The LPA) are non-refundable, except in the case of duplicate orders. Immediate access to all areas of the site includes access to highly confidential information of the Deadbeat Database / National Tenant Rating Bureau for the length of the membership term. In addition we prepare and send you a personalized authentic LPA Membership Certificate in your name, decal, and in multiple year memberships, the LPA Forms CD disk is included in the package.

    11. Is The Deadbeat Database legal? I don't want my disgruntled ex-tenant to sue me.
    Yes. It is against The LPA membership agreement and Terms of Service to knowingly provide false information on any tenants. Because all reports are provided by landlords with paid LPA Memberships who have agreed to our Terms of Service, the integrity of the tenant profiles is highly reliable.

    12. Are your forms legal in my state?
    Yes. The LPA’s collection of Essential Forms and Free Forms are not only legal, but highly recommended by judges and attorneys and of course landlords. The LPA website includes a State Specific Notice Period Chart and a State Specific Lease Clause Index so landlords in every state can make sure their lease is in full compliance with local statutes.

    14. What are those searchboxes for on The LPA homepage?
    You have the ability to search the directory databases. The include The Professionals Directory (Businesses), Rentals Available, Classified Ads and Tenant Histories. (Tenant Histories is for LPA members only).

    15. What is The National Tenant Register?
    The National Tenant Register allows Tenants to place “Rentals Wanted Ads” online so Landlords can search the database on the LPA to find tenants in their area looking for a rental.

    16. Do I have to pay for forms after I join?
    No. All LPA Forms are FREE for LPA Members.

    17. Will you (the LPA) screen my prospective tenants for me?
    No. The LPA is not a management company. It is a resource center for landlords to use our materials and ideas to be a more efficient landlord.

    18. Can I ask you landlord - tenant questions if I have a tenant problem?
    Yes, but keep in mind, we are not attorneys and do not give legal advice. Answering questions is best done by e-mail. We do our best to help, but this is not one of our paid services.

    19. How do I apply for the “Landlord of the Month Award?
    Are you our next "Landlord of the Month"? If you'd like to share your landlord experience and philosophy with us, please e-mail us your story in a format similar to the ones listed on our Landlord of the Month page. Send your story to Award@theLPA.com.

    20. Can I get paid for referring business to The Landlord Protection Agency?

    21. Is The Landlord Protection Agency a member of the BBB?
    The LPA services in excess of 200,000 landlords per month and is not a paying member of any of the BBB for profit franchises. Since the LPA began as a website in 1999, we haven't had any demand for it. If it helps you to be more comfortable, we subscribe to "Thawte Consulting" for site security, one of the world's leading internet security providers and we are an approved Authorize.net merchant for the last 12 years. You are also free to look up The LPA on any of the Better Business Bureau franchises to see if anyone's complained about us. I don't think you'll find us on there.
